It’s Addictive!
I’ve started watching Asian dramas a few months ago and I’ve been addicted to them ever since. Here’s a list of how Asian dramas have affected my day-to-day life.
- Lack of sleep – I don’t remember the last time I went to bed before midnight.
- I now find Asian guys attractive. LOL. Growing up in the midwest where there aren’t many Asians, I would’ve never thought I would be attracted to Asian guys
- “Emo” hairstyle on Asian guys – I used to think that this hairstyle was too feminine but now I find guys with that hairstyle really sexy. Unfortunately, I don’t see many Asian guys with that haircut here in the US.
- I want to visit or live in Korea.
- I’ve learned a few Korean words and I sometimes have the urge to respond in Korean during conversations. Aigoo!
- Before, most Asian languages sound the same to me … but now I can differentiate between Mandarin, Korean or Japanese.
- My friends and family think I’m weird/crazy for being so obsessed with Asian dramas.
- My iPod contains songs that I don’t understand but really enjoy listening to.
- I spend my free time sitting in front of the computer watching dramas instead of doing other activities (I’ve literally stayed inside the house all summer watching dramas!). I pretty much have to pry myself away from the shows so I can spend some quality time with my family.
- I now have unreasonable expectations when it comes to romance. HAHA The sad thing is it wouldn’t occur to most guys to do all of those super-sweet things in Asian dramas. Bummer!
- I’ve completely stopped watching American TV shows or movies. Heck, you hardly see me in front of the TV unless I’m watching Asian dramas that I’ve bought on DVD.
- I eat Ramen noodles more than I used to.
- Hairstyle: I now have bangs (similar to the side bangs that most female leads have). The last time I had bangs was when I was 10. LOL
- I’m no longer a shopaholic *shock* — I would rather sit at home watching dramas than go shopping. This is definitely a good thing for bank account! :)
- I feel super guilty for not spending time with my hubby. He absolutely hates my drama addiction.
